Buyer / Stock Control Manager
Kaboodle are recruiting an experienced buyer / stock controller to join the team at our head office based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operations and take full ownership of the following functions within the business:-
• Stock Purchasing – using the installation schedule and project forecasts to plan and maintain stock flows ensuring correct products are available when required. Building relationships with key suppliers and feeding back any potential stock delays or product changes etc to the projects team. Analysing the order book to plan direct MTO flows increasing product margins wherever possible. Working closely with the accounts team to ensure supplier payments are made ontime and advising of any overpayment requirements where necessary.
• Returns Management – Staying on top of damage/faulty product returns to ensure supplier credits or replacements are agreed within set times. Ordering spare parts to achieve restocking of damages items and minimise stock write off.
• Warehouse Management – Direct line manager to 3 warehouse operatives. Assess current stock management process and lead transition to fully automated system that is compatible with our accounts software. Lead quarterly stock takes and prepare directors report.
The role will enable the candidate to have end to end control over movement of stock from ordering, to warehousing through to picking and dispatch.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of procurement experience with a proven track record of managing themselves and others to achieve our standards of delivering first time, on time every time.
