Human Resources Advisor - £27 - £30kpa

JOB SUMMARY

 As the only HR person within the Company this role will report directly to the Operations Director and is responsible for supporting day to day HR operations within the Company.  The person will be the first point of contact for all HR queries within the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Line Managers within the business and a good understanding of their work.
  • Provide professional advice and support to Line Managers with individual performance issues (conduct, capability, health and attendance), grievances/complaints and employee relations issues. Ensure these are dealt with fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements in conjunction with external HR Provider.
  • Advise and support managers on the management of sickness cases in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures, the Equality Act and liaising as appropriate with relevant advisors.
  • Supporting managers with recruitment in terms of placing adverts, liaising with relevant agencies, ensuring managers complete appropriate shortlisting forms, arranging interviews, pre- employment checks, offer letters and contract of employment and setting up employee benefit by completing all the necessary administration.
  • Undertake and manage the HR administration of starters and leavers and contractual changes, including the preparation of contractual documentation.
  • Ensure that all employees induction process is completed by Line Managers and probationary review documentation is kept up to date.
  • Maintaining the HR database and accurate HR Records
  • Developing new initiatives to ensure team member engagement, performance, retention and succession planning.
  • Keep abreast of developments in employment legislation
  • Managing the appraisals and reviews process.
  • Ensuring that all absence information is logged onto the HR System by managers and relevant absence documentation is completed: self-certification, fit notes, return to work interviews etc.
  • Ensuring all staff changes are monitored, maintaining accurate employee files and communicating any changes with payroll as required
  • Arranging and attending confidential meetings, taking notes and updating employee files where necessary ensuring accuracy at all times.
  • Organising companywide social events and being involved in employee engagement initiatives for work anniversary etc.

· Educated to GCSE level C in English and Maths

·CIPD level 5 or working towards it

·Degree level education

·User of Breathe HR Software

 

EXPERIENCE

 

 

·At least 2 years’ experience at HR Advisor level – advising Line Managers on all Employee Relations Issues

·Between 2-5 years’ experience at HR Advisor level

·Experience of being in a standalone role

·Experience of working with external HR provider
